RETIE - RETILAP (Safety), Energy Efficiency and CRC (Telecommunication) Certification in Colombia

1. Safety Certification - RETIE - RETILAP
RETIE, RETILAP and RETIQ Approvals can be achieved in accordance with four optional certification schemes (based on ISO/IEC 17067 standard):
• Scheme Type 1a: Type testing (valid for the tested product only).
• Scheme Type 1b: Type testing (product sample from a production batch). Validity of certificate according to shipment.
• Scheme Type 4: Type testing (product sample), factory inspection and surveillance (periodical testing and factory inspection). Certificate validity: 1 year
• Scheme Type 5: Type testing (product sample), management system audit (production process) and surveillance (periodical testing and audit). Certificate validity: 3 years

Energy efficiency labeling of electrical and gas equipment regulated and certified by RETIQ (Reglamento Técnico de Etiquetado).
List of energy labels required by RETIQ: Electric motors, Refrigeration equipment, Air conditioners, Gas cooking equipment, Washing machines, Water heaters.
3. Telecommunications Certification - CRC
The CRC (Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones - Telecommunications Regulatory Commission) is the agency that manages and regulates the telecommunication services and network market in Colombia. Is a unit directly under the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications.
