The Brazilian Silence Program, established in 1990 by the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment, advocates the production and use of devices with lower noise levels.

The noise label was established in 2014 and was created by The Brazilian Silence Program, the National Education and Noise Pollution Control Program, coordinated by IBAMA.
As a warning to consumers, labels are intended to provide information regarding the noise levels (in dBA) emitted by certain household appliances. In this way, in addition to guiding consumers when purchasing quieter products, it also helps combat noise pollution and encourages manufacturers to produce less noisy products.

This label must be attached to the product or product packaging, always visible so that consumers can compare products and choose the product with the lowest sound intensity.

Noise protection labels are mandatory for vacuum cleaners, hair dryers or blenders, according to Ordinance No. 6/2022 of INMETRO, partner of IBAMA, the regulatory body for the safety of these devices. and the supplier of the conformity assessment scheme based on the certification scheme.

It shows the product's decibel count, classifying it on a scale from 1 (quietest) to 5 (least quiet). So the lower the number, the better. To receive the best rating, a hair dryer cannot exceed 78 decibels. Vacuum cleaner, 80. Blender, 85 decibels.

Below is the certification process and label along with the IBAMA certificate
