Refrigerator Product Safety Certificate in Colombia
Refrigerator products are required to carry out Safety certification in Colombia under the administration of the Ministerio de Minas y Energia republica de Colombia (Ministry of Mines and Energy) - Ministry of Mines and Energy - A government agency that protects people consumption and management of energy, electricity, etc.
■ ONAC (Organismo Nacional de Acreditación de Colombia) - National accreditation organization in Colombia
National Product and System Certification Authority and Laboratory Accreditation Authority.
■ ICONTEC(Instituto Colombiano de Normas Técnicas y Certificacion) - Certification organization
This agency is in charge of national standardization and product certification
Appliances that require certification include Refrigerators and Electric Lights
( Refrigerator 2006.4.25, Electric light 2009.8.6)
Note: There are two types of certificate processing: those with a local dealer and those without Factory assessment and audits of surveillance will depend on the type of certification
Testing standards:
Safety: RESOLUCION 0859 2006: Regulation of refrigerators
Testing requirements:
Depends on the selection process:
Option 1: testing is performed at the factory's internal laboratory.
If there is no in-house laboratory, testing will be performed at a laboratory that has signed an agreement with the certification body.
Option 2: testing at local testing laboratories
Required documents:
ICONTEC Quality Mark
- Constitution certificate number or administrative action of creation issued by a competent authority.
- A copy of trademark(s) registration before the corresponding authority.
- If (a) manufacturing contract(s) exist, a copy of this/these contract(s) or the authorization for ICONTEC to perform audits at all manufacturing locations.
- If (a) standing authorization(s) for the use of the trademark(s) exist, a copy of this/these authorizations.
- Catalogs, schematics or descriptive information of the products to be certified.
- Organizational chart- Process, flow chart or inspection and testing procedure for primary materials and product to be certified which demonstrates the company’s compliance with the referential.
Annual Mark
- Certificate of Chamber of Commerce building or administrative act issued by competent authority. Certificate of conformity of the quality management system
- Catalogs, schematics or descriptive information of the products to be certified
