Refrigerator Certification in Argentina
Refrigerator products are required to carry out Safety certification and Energy Labeling in Argentina under the management of the Secretaría de Industria, Comercio y Minería - Ministry of Industry, Trade and Mining
Testing and certification for S-mark Safety and energy efficiency must be carried out at local testing laboratories and certification bodies accredited by the OAA (Organismo Argentino de Acreditacion).

Certification
The certification process usually includes the following two types:
- Mark Certification: This certification model consists on the test on samples of the product to evaluate the conformity with the standard and the assessment of the factory, followed by the market surveillance. The product shall bear the official safety mark, plus the mark of the certification body involved in the process.
- Type Certification: This certification model consists on the test on samples of the product to evaluate the conformity with the standard, followed by market surveillance. The product shall bear the official safety mark. Sampling testing is conducted 3 months from the initial purchase, samples are taken and tested every 6 months to confirm the validity of the certification. Products must have an official Safety label.
The main difference between Type and Mark certification is the factory inspection (once a year as a minimum). Besides, as in Mark certification the product shall bear the mark of Commerce and Industry Secretary (S Mark).
Testing standards:
Safety: Resolution 507/2000
Energy efficiency: IRAM 2404-3
With Safety certification, if the applicant already has a CB scheme certification, the product does not need to be tested locally.
Regarding energy efficiency: Testing must be performed at a local laboratory accredited by the OAA (Organismo Argentino de Acreditacion).
