Certification for Energy Efficiency of Refrigerator Products in Chile
Refrigerator products are required to undergo Safety certification and Energy Labeling in Chile under the management of SEC (Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles) - Electricity and Fuels
SEC: electricity and fuel supply, technical inspection and electricity services, energy market supervision of public institutions, legislation and announcements on electricity, fuel and energy.
Safety and energy efficiency approvals are performed by certification agencies and laboratories authorized by the SEC.
PPEE(Programa País de Eficiencia Energética) - Chile's energy labeling program
The Energy Efficiency Labeling System has been in place since 2005 and is a system created to increase energy efficiency.
Energy Efficiency products listed by the SEC must be approved with a Safety certification.
Note: The applicant must be a local company or agent.
※ For overseas reporting to be recognized in Chile, the laboratory involved must be accredited by the SEC.
Conditions: The laboratory must be a member of the IAF accredited organization.
Testing standards:
Safety: IEC 60335-2-24: Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-24: Particular requirements for refrigerating appliances, ice-cream appliances and ice makers
Energy efficiency: ISO 15502 – 2005: Household refrigeration appliances - Characteristics and test methods
