Certification for Energy Efficiency of Refrigerator Products in Brazil
Refrigerator products are required to undergo Safety and Energy Labeling certification in Brazil under the management of INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality)
INMETRO is the Brazilian accreditation agency responsible for accrediting certification bodies (CBs). In addition, INMETRO defines the products and corresponding requirements in each respective certification program. Products manufactured in or exported to Brazil require a certificate issued by the CB, stating that the product meets Brazilian requirements.
PBE(Brazilian Labeling Program)
Brazilian Energy Labeling System - INMETRO, a conformity assessment program for national energy conservation by providing energy efficiency information for each product to domestic consumers in Brazil. The minimum or maximum energy level of devices and equipment is established, and Law 10.295 and Decree 4059 are applied.
INMETRO has the authority to directly approve PBE products, and product testing can only be performed at testing laboratories that have received accreditation from INMETRO.
Note: The applicant must be a local company or agent.

Required documents:
· Applicant form (Inmetro form)
· Technical Specification Sheet (Inmetro form)
· Instruction and Installation Manual in Portuguese Language.
· Power Plug in accordance to NBR 14136.
· Storage Plan in accordance with the applicable standard.
· Drawing of, at least, 02 views related to the usable volume determination of the refrigerators compartments.
· Detailed Calculation Memorial, in a way of to evidence the usable declared volume.
· Orientation related to the adjustment of the thermostat, fast-freezing switch and other controls.
